INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Saint Loup edged Ain by a neck to win the $54,750 feature with jockey Rafael Bejarano riding one of his four winners at Betfair Hollywood Park on Friday.
Saint Loup ran 114 miles on the turf in 2:01.14 and paid $3.20, $2.40 and $2.10 as the 3-5 favorite. The France-bred won for the first time in four starts in the U.S.
Ain returned $4.60 and $3.20, while Vibrato Jazz was another 212 lengths back in third and paid $3.60 to show.
Bejarano also won the fourth, fifth and eighth races, moving him within 14 of reaching 3,000 for his career.
Saint Loup earned $32,400 to increase his career winnings to $119,460, with two wins in 11 starts.
