SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM begins at 4 p.m. at Community A.M.E. Zion Church, 3605 E. 13th St. The seventh annual Jennie T. Kemp Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to provide assistance to qualifying applicants who will attend an institute of higher learning or vocational training. The Rev. Ronie Brooks, pastor of To God Be the Glory Church in Salem, Ore., will speak. The Rev. Robert Probasco of A.M.E. Zion Church in Portland will present the scholarships. CHOIR OF ST. JOHN’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH will present “Requiem Mass” by English composer John Rutter at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday services at 1206 N.E. Birch St., Camas. The 30-voice choir led by Lee Jennings will be accompanied by an ensemble of musicians.

ABUNDANT LIFE CENTER will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a benefit concert, 6 to 8 p.m. May 3 at Tiger Lily Restaurant & Bar, 1109 Washington St. Amit Abhan, who has played the guitar for 30 years and has toured extensively, will entertain with acoustic music.
