DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Running back Mike Gillislee of Florida has been taken by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round of the NFL draft.
Gillislee rushed for 1,152 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior last season. He averaged 5.3 yards per carry in his career and totaled 22 touchdowns.
He was the 164th overall selection Saturday.
The 208-pound Gillislee will compete for a roster spot after starter Reggie Bush departed to Detroit via free agency. Lamar Miller is expected to be Miami’s starter this year.
