Andre Murray scored 28 points, and Chehales Tapscott had 17 points and 12 rebounds to help lead the Vancouver Volcanoes past the Portland Chinooks 138-120 in International Basketball League action Saturday at the O’Connell Center.
The Volcanoes (2-1) led 67-52 at the half and was ahead by as much as 25 points at 132-107.
Vancouver made 45 percent of its shots, a vast improvement from its home opener last Sunday when the team shot 34 percent from the field.
Alex Hartman was among the eight Volcanoes players in double figures with 20 points. Josh Tarver added 17, Paul Hafford and Mike Ward had 12 points each, Gjio Bain had 11 and Jake Carlisle had 10.
