Letter: Modern munitions change the issue

I doubt our Founding Fathers had assault weapons in mind when they wrote the Second Amendment since the arms that were available at the time were only muskets. Not to mention, the population at the time was less than 4 million people vs. the 312 million that we have to worry about today. Had they foreseen in the future a weapon that can fire off hundreds of rounds in seconds, they might have planned differently.
