WALLA WALLA — A partial human skull found in the Snake River upstream from the Ice Harbor Dam may be from a prehistoric Native American.

The Walla Walla County sheriff’s office says the bone was found Tuesday in nearly 5 feet of water by a family looking for clams.

The Union-Bulletin reports the bone will be examined by anthropologists and the Corps of Engineers will decide whether to give the remains to local tribes.
