This is no joke. Ellen DeGeneres is going to host the Oscars in 2014.
The TV talk show host and comedian recently Tweeted, “It’s official: I’m hosting the #Oscars!” Then, not missing an opportunity to get a laugh, she poked fun at the ceremony: “I’d like to thank @TheAcademy, my Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra.”
DeGeneres last hosted the Oscars in 2007 to glowing reviews, even earning her a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program.
Next year’s Oscars will take place March 2 on ABC, the network that hosted the award-winning sitcom, “Ellen.”
