DALLAS (AP) — State liquor control authorities say there’s evidence a Dallas nightclub was over-serving patrons the night of a crash that killed a Dallas Cowboys player.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission said Friday that it found “sufficient evidence” that Beamers Private Club in Dallas was selling alcohol to someone already intoxicated and “conducting practices” that encouraged excessive drinking.
Among the patrons of Beamers was former Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent. Authorities say Brent was driving drunk when he crashed Dec. 8 in suburban Dallas, killing practice squad player Jerry Brown.
Brent is charged with intoxication manslaughter and faces trial next month.
Commission Lt. John Graham said investigators believe Beamers was the last place Brent stopped before the accident.
The owners of Beamers could not immediately be reached for comment.
