CHICAGO (AP) — White Sox left fielder Dayan Viciedo left Monday’s game against the New York Yankees because of a jammed left thumb.

Viciedo was injured diving for Robinson Cano’s single to short left in the first inning. He picked up the ball and nailed Cano trying to take second for the third out.

Alejandro De Aza batted for Viciedo in the bottom of the inning and went out to play center in the second. Casper Wells moved from center to left.

The team said X-rays on Viciedo’s thumb were negative and that he’s day to day.
