Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program is offering free legal assistance to eligible Clark County homeowners whose homes are underwater.

The Home Foreclosure Project provides legal advice, information on alternatives to foreclosure and education about homeowner rights during the foreclosure process. Homeowners with low to moderate incomes may be eligible. Those who qualify will be scheduled for an appointment with a volunteer attorney. The attorney may provide a referral to request mediation, if appropriate, which suspends the foreclosure process until mediation is completed.

The program is supported by a grant from the Legal Foundation of Washington.
