Cascade Park — The Children’s Center, a mental health clinic for low-income children and families, is moving ahead with plans to build its own building on the northwest corner of Southeast 136th Avenue and Seventh Street. The proposal is for a 15,525-square-foot building and 77-space parking lot on 1.85 acres. Construction is predicted for early 2014 to early 2015. It’s projected that 52 people will work at the Children’s Center when it is at maximum capacity. Written comments on that determination will be accepted through 4 p.m. on Sept. 3. A public hearing on the plan, conducted by a land-use hearings examiner, is set for 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at Vancouver City Hall, 415 W. Sixth St.
