Letter: Exception prompts traffic barrier

The Columbian

I am appalled to hear the city of Vancouver has approved a “density exception” to the Vancouver Housing Authority for a 152-unit housing complex on Southeast First Street. The traffic on this little two-lane road is horrid right now. We cannot exit our street without waiting for too many cars/trucks to pass. The light on First Street and 164th Avenue is not programmed correctly as cars get backed up very easily. Why are city planners willing to ruin what little ability we do have to travel on First Street? Developers seem to only care about the money.
