A Vancouver man was killed Friday in freeway crash on Interstate 5 in Portland, according to information made public Saturday.

The Multnomah County Medical Examiner on Saturday identified Thomas Swift, 52, as the man who died in the 4:20 p.m. crash near the Barbur Boulevard exit on I-5 south.

Swift was driving a small Chevrolet coupe south on the freeway when his car was struck from behind by a Ford F-150 pickup driven by Ronald D. Witt, 56, of Tigard. The force of the crash propelled Swift’s car into an Audi it had been following.

The Portland Police Bureau reported that Witt was arrested for allegedly driving with a revoked license and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center.

The crash and investigation shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 for several hours.

KATU-TV contributed to this report.
