LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The International Olympic Committee says it has reached a deal with Japan-based advertising agency Dentsu covering broadcast rights in China and 16 other Asian countries for the 2014 Sochi Winter Games and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Games.

The IOC says Dentsu has been granted the exclusive rights and “will now seek broadcast partners” in the countries involved, including Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Dentsu also was awarded the 2014-16 Olympic broadcast rights for five more central Asian countries this month.

The agreements also include rights to broadcast the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games, which China is hosting in Nanjing.
