TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Todd Graham gave Arizona State a firm dose of discipline during his first season in the desert, getting the players to do things his way whether they wanted to or not.

It was effective. The Sun Devils won eight games and crushed Navy in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.

Now, with the momentum of last season and an understanding that Graham’s method works, the Sun Devils have bought into his approach.

This is their team and it could be a pretty good one with All-American defensive tackle Will Sutton and dynamic quarterback Taylor Kelly returning.

The Sun Devils need to get a little better on run defense and have a brutal opening schedule, but they’re in position to take a step forward from last year’s success thanks to Graham’s approach.
