COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State coach Urban Meyer says two more of the team’s top players will be suspended for at least the opener.

Starting cornerback Bradley Roby will sit out the Aug. 31 game against Buffalo because of his arrest in July on misdemeanor charges of assaulting a bar bouncer. The prosecutor has offered Roby the chance to enter a pretrial diversion program that could result in the charge being dismissed.

Meyer said Saturday that Roby could face additional discipline by the team.

Also, running back Rod Smith has been suspended for the Buffalo game because of a violation of team rules last winter.

Leading scorer Carlos Hyde was suspended for the first three games after an alleged assault of a woman in which he did not face charges.
