The Clark County Board of Health has extended the deadline for applicants seeking to fill unexpired terms for three vacancies on the Public Health Advisory Council.

The positions are for a consumer of public health services, a physician practicing in Clark County and a nurse practicing in Clark County.

The advisory council is a link between the board of health — made up of the county’s three commissioners — and the community. The council identifies community health needs, sets priorities and formulates recommendations to the board of health to enhance the health status of the community.

The council meets from 6 to 8 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month. The group meets at the Center for Community Health, 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd. in Vancouver.

To be considered, applicants must submit a resume and/or letter of interest to Jennifer Clark, Board of Clark County Commissioners, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver WA 98666-5000. Commissioners will also accept applications by fax, 360-397-6058, and email, jennifer.clark@clark.wa.gov.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. Monday Sept. 9.
