BOISE, Idaho — Idaho authorities are letting more residents back into homes that were once considered threatened by a big wildfire burning near Ketchum and Sun Valley.
The Blaine County Sheriff Monday afternoon gave permission for evacuees to return to another 150 homes south of the resort community of Ketchum. Earlier Monday, the sheriff ended mandatory evacuation notices for 100 other homes deemed at risk by the 160-square-mile Beaver Creek Fire.
Elsewhere, fires in California threatened hundreds of structures and prompted voluntary evacuations in the northern Sierra Nevada foothills.
In Oregon, dozens of homeowners are on alert due to a wildfire burning on 3,000 acres outside The Dalles.
Residents of about 35 homes threatened in an area 10 miles southwest of The Dalles were told to pack up and be ready to evacuate.
