Port of Woodland Commissioners will hold a public workshop that will feature a presentation from Columbia River Carbonates about its proposed barge terminal on private property near the port’s Martin’s Bar property on the Columbia River.

The workshop will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the commons at Woodland High School, 757 Park Ave. Bernie Schockelt, general manager of Columbia River Carbonates, will deliver the presentation and answer questions about the proposal.

The terminal will be used to transport raw materials to the company, which now relies on rail and truck delivery, said Nelson Holmberg, the port’s general manager. The workshop is informational and the terminal does not require port approval, he said.
