LONGVIEW — Cowlitz County Public Works is halting the addition of fluoride into drinking water for the city of Woodland.
The city council voted Monday night to remove the additive.
Even if fluoridation prevents tooth decay, Councilman Ben Fredricks said the city shouldn’t make a medical decision for citizens without their consent.
The Daily News reports the county is halting fluoridation for Woodland on Tuesday but it will take a few days before all the treated water flows through the system.
