COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge against Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby has been conditionally dropped, according to a published report.

Roby, involved in a fight at a Bloomington, Ind., bar in July, must avoid any additional legal trouble until Aug. 16, 2014, in order to have the charge dismissed, The Columbus Dispatch reported.

The redshirt junior, one of the top players on the second-ranked Buckeyes’ defense, was charged with misdemeanor battery after he was accused of making contact with the chest of the bar’s security guard. The charge was reduced last week from battery to disorderly conduct.

Coach Urban Meyer has suspended Roby for the team’s opener against Buffalo on Aug. 31.
