SEATTLE — A Kent man has pleaded guilty to importing and selling more than $500,000 in counterfeit luxury vehicle parts.

The U.S. attorney for the western district of Washington says the 34-year-old man — Guoxing Xian — faces up to 10 years in prison and a $2 million fine when sentenced on Nov. 22.

He has pleaded guilty to importing items like license plate holders and automobile logs that were Chinese knockoffs of BMW, Mercedes and other luxury brands.

According to the plea agreement, Xian sold auto parts over the Internet over the past five years.

He was caught when he sold items to an undercover federal agent. U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan says has agreed to make restitution to BMW, Mercedes and other companies.
