Stewart wins women’s 100 meters in Stockholm

STOCKHOLM (AP) — Kerron Stewart of Jamaica won the women’s 100 meters at the DN Galan Diamond League meet Thursday, edging Alexandria Anderson of the U.S. by 0.01 seconds.

Stewart was timed in 11.24 seconds in the first major track and field event since the world championships in Moscow. Barbara Pierre of the U.S. was third, 0.05 seconds behind.

World champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica was among the top sprinters who skipped the race.
