Central Park — Residents with no patience for smoke, cigarette butts or other by-products of tobacco use in their local parks can pick up a sign from Clark County Public Health reminding others about the rules. The “Welcome to Your Tobacco Free Park” signs are offered to neighborhood associations or event planners so they can remind others about Vancouver’s tobacco law. In January 2012, the city implemented a ban on any tobacco use at its parks, trails and recreation centers, with a maximum fine of $1,000 if the rule is broken. To pick up a sign and stakes, contact Theresa.Cross@clark.wa.gov or 360-397-8000, ext. 7378.
