PORT ORCHARD — A Washington couple accused of beating and torturing the man's 13-year-old brother have been charged with first-degree kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment, as well as four counts of second-degree assault.
Kitsap County prosecutors filed the new charges Tuesday against Brandon Gunn and Viviana Gunn of Silverdale. They were arrested last weekend. Bremerton police found the boy late Friday night, sleeping on a park bench after running away from the home days earlier.
The Kitsap Sun reported that Prosecutor Russ Hauge said investigators are still collecting evidence and additional charges are possible.
It was not known whether the couple have lawyers.
The boy came to live at the couple's home in May 2012. He says the abuse started earlier this summer. The teen told Kitsap County sheriff's deputies that the couple beat him with a baseball bat, sliced his skin with a heated knife, forced him to remain naked in a portable dog kennel without food and water and once drove a nail through his palm.
The boy is now in foster care.
