Lower River Road — It wasn’t just cycling enthusiasts and policymakers who turned out for that bike trail rally and ride Aug. 23 at the Port of Vancouver USA. Also on hand was Richard Fazio of the Fazio Brothers Sand Company, spreading the word that cyclists who pass north beyond Frenchman’s Bar Park are headed into another high-traffic danger zone. Both Fazio Brothers and Andersen Dairy are located up there, he said, and they send big trucks along the road — which is narrower and dicier there than south of the park. “Our drivers are very concerned that something horrendous is going to happen,” he said. He beseeched cyclists venturing north of Frenchman’s Bar to be extra careful.
