Nebrich leads Fordham over Rhode Island 51-26

NEW YORK (AP) — Michael Nebrich threw for four touchdowns, completing 17 of 25 pass attempts for 267 yards, to lead the Fordham Rams to a 51-26 victory over the Rhode Island Rams Thursday night.

Nebrich’s longest was a 64 yard completion to Sam Ajala for a touchdown.

Ajala and Brian Wetzel had two touchdown catches each. Ajala totaled 112 yards on 4 receptions. Wetzel caught seven for 90 yards. Dan Light accounted for another 50 yards on two catches.

The Fordham Rams jumped out to a 24-6 lead at the half. Rhode Island closed the gap to 24-12 in the third quarter on the running of Robbie Delgado, who had 113 yards on 21 carries. Fordham’s J.Q. Bowers quickly changed the flavor of the game during Rhode Island’s next possession when he picked off a Bob Bentsen pass, returning it 61 yards for a Fordham touchdown on the next Rhode Island possession.
