Each year the Columbian sports staff, and the newsroom’s resident Florida Gator fan, put our college football credibility on the line. Here’s our predictions for the Northwest teams, Pac-12 champ and national champ.

Lou Brancaccio, Editor

Washington 7-5

Washington State 4-8

Oregon 11-1

Oregon State 8-4

Pac-12 champ: USC

National champ: Florida

You’re either a Gator or you’re Gator bait. Florida goes 11-1 in regular season beats Alabama in the SEC championship game then crushes turncoat Meyer and Ohio State to win it all.

Micah Rice, Sports Editor

Washington 8-4

Washington State 3-9

Oregon 12-0

Oregon State 7-5

Pac-12 champ: Oregon

National champ: Ohio State

With a pathetic schedule, Ohio State coasts to the BCS title game, where they squeak by Oregon. SEC heads explode when their one-loss champ is left out. Finally, national unity in bidding the BCS good riddance.

Tim Martinez, Assistant Sports Editor

Washington 8-4

Washington State 5-7

Oregon 10-2

Oregon State 8-4

Pac-12 champ: Stanford

National champ: Texas A&M

The Aggies and Johnny Football prevail. Write it down. Sign it on the dotted line. It’s money in the bank.

Paul Valencia, Sports Reporter

Washington 7-5

Washington State 4-8

Oregon 15-0*

(NCAA loves Ducks so much, they will give them extra wins)

Oregon State 10-2

Pac-12 champ: Stanford

National champ: Florida State.

Actually, I’m going with Eastern Washington with the real national championship, playing in the biggest division in college football that is strong enough to have a real playoff.

Paul Danzer, Sports Reporter

Washington 7-5

Washington State 5-7

Oregon 11-1

Oregon State 8-4

Pac-12 champ: Stanford

National champ: Stanford

Somebody finally outsmarts the SEC in the BCS
