A motorist who attempted to elude Oregon State Police this morning along Highway 20 in Deschutes County, was found dead in his vehicle after the second Oregon State Police-involved shooting in the last 24 hours.
It's too early to confirm if the driver died from shots fired by police.
The incident began around 11:50 am. when a trooper stopped a eastbound vehicle on the highway near milepost 85 following a driving complaint. During the stop, the driver pointed a firearm at the trooper and drove off eastbound with troopers in toe.
Spike strips were deployed near Sisters, Ore., and the vehicle turned off the highway onto Harrington Loop Road. After the vehicle came to a stop, shots were reportedly fired and the driver was found deceased inside the vehicle.
No officers were injured. Investigators are en route.
