Steps to build your business: The company has been in business for 50 years and is continually growing. Each year Ogden expands his parts and equipment inventory, which results in faster service to his customers.

Greatest challenge: Trying to compete with the larger dealers in Oregon.

What's ahead: The equipment business is cyclical. Ogden said he gets new equipment in for spring sales and also uses the winter months to restock his parts inventory.

Owner's business history: Ogden's dad owned the business, and Skip started working Saturdays sweeping the parts department and stocking the literature racks when he was about 7 years old. At age 10, he graduated to pressure washing the company's equipment and occasionally got to drive tractors to job sites. In the late 1970s, Skip started buying the business from his dad. Since 1992 he has been the company's sole owner.
