Boys basketball: Ridgefield 65, Scappoose 53

Rebounding keyed a fourth-quarter surge as the Spudders outscored the visiting Indians by 10 in the final period to earn the win.

David Potter scored 17 points to lead the Ridgefield offense. Josh Mason had 14 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and four assists for the Spudders (2-0).

Jared Williams had 12 points and three steals for Ridgefield.

The Spudders trailed by three at halftime and took a one-point lead into the fourth quarter before outscoring the Indians 24-14 to finish the game.
