Stony Brook defeats Fairleigh Dickinson 77-62

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Carson Puriefoy scored 15 points to lead five players in double figures as Stony Brook defeated Fairleigh Dickinson Wednesday night.

Stony Brook (6-3) had a 32-9 run to end the first half. Puriefoy scored 11, including two 3-pointers during the stretch.

Sidney Sanders Jr. made a layup to pull Fairleigh Dickinson (3-7) within four at 61-57 with 3:42 remaining. Dave Coley answered with a 3-pointer, sparking a 16-5 run by the Seawolves to cap the scoring.

Coley, Anthony Jackson and Jameel Warney each scored 13 points. Ahmad Walker scored 14 points, and had a team-high seven rebounds for the Seawolves.

Sanders scored a career-high 28 points. He scored a previous career-best 23 points during Sunday’s win against Seton Hall.

The Seawolves improve to 29-2 at home, rebounding after having their 13-game home streak snapped Sunday against St. Francis Brooklyn.
