OLYMPIA — A briefing and public hearing on Washington’s lower Columbia River sturgeon management policy is scheduled to begin at about 10:45 a.m. Saturday before the Fish and Wildlife Commission.

Cindy LeFleur, regional fish program manager, and Brad James, sturgeon biologist, will present a stock status and other information for the commission’s annual review.

Sturgeon retention is scheduled to be closed in 2014 in the lower Columbia River, Willapa Bay, Grays Harbor and Puget Sound to allow the population to grow.
