Local McDonald’s chain expands north on I-5

A Vancouver-based McDonald’s chain has opened its northernmost restaurant in Castle Rock just off Interstate 5 at Exit 49 east of the freeway.

The full-service restaurant, with its dual-lane drive-through, is part of a new development anchored by the Rocket Chevron gas station and 24-hour truck stop at 1040 Dougherty Drive. The McDonald’s opened in late October.

A staff of about 52 people are employed by the restaurant, owned by husband-and-wife business partners Val and Matt Hadwin of Vancouver-based North Star Restaurants Inc.

The company operates McDonald’s restaurants throughout Southwest Washington.
