MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has left the team to mourn the passing of his maternal grandmother.

The team says Carol Lee Craig died on Wednesday night, when Love and the Wolves were in Mexico City to play the San Antonio Spurs. That game was postponed because of a problem in the arena and the Wolves flew home late Wednesday night.

The team says Love will not practice on Friday. The Wolves next play against the Miami Heat on Saturday night.

Love’s status for the game is unknown. His grandmother’s death also forced Love to cancel two community appearances scheduled for Friday that related to his annual winter coat drive.
