Cervi wins second straight barrel racing round

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Season leader Sherry Cervi won her second consecutive barrel racing round Friday night in the National Finals Rodeo.

Cervi, from Marana, Ariz., had a 13.66-second run on Stingray and earned $18,630 to increase her season total to $184,677. She opened the rodeo Thursday night with a run of 13.77.

Defending season champion Mary Walker of Ennis, Texas, is second in the standings with $148,233. She was third in the round at 13.89.
