BOSTON (AP) — Bruins coach Claude Julien said defenseman Johnny Boychuk is expected to be sidelined up to a week two days after being taken off the ice on a stretcher.
Julien said he’d likely miss “three to seven days” with back spasms after undergoing tests on Friday.
Boychuk was taken from the ice on a stretcher and sent to a hospital after a first-period hit from behind by Montreal forward Max Pacioretty in Thursday’s loss to the Canadiens. Pacioretty was given two-minutes for boarding.
Boychuk traveled home with the team after the game and underwent an MRI, which showed no fractures.
