LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — After winning the Conference USA title Saturday, Rice lost its offensive coordinator to Kansas.

John Reagan will take over as the Jayhawks’ offensive coordinator and offensive line coach after helping the Owls beat Marshall 41-24 for the Conference USA championship Saturday.

Kansas made the official announcement about a couple hours after the game.

Reagan fills a vacancy in the Kansas coaching staff created by the departure of offensive line coach Tim Grunhard, who chose to step down to spend more time with his family.

Kansas coach Charlie Weis also announced Saturday that linebackers coach Clint Bowen has added the title of defensive coordinator. Dave Campo remains as the assistant head coach.
