Freund of Germany wins ski jump World Cup event

LILLEHAMMER, Norway (AP) — Germany’s Severin Freund beat Norway’s Anders Bardal to win a ski jump World Cup event on Sunday.

Freund jumped 132.5 meters in the first round and 137 meters in the second to finish with a total of 279 points at the large hill in Lillehammer.

Bardal soared into second place with a 138-meter jump in the last round and totaled 277 points.

Japan’s Daiki Ito was third.
