Letter: Enthusiasm experienced sharing art

I found a few things were left out of the Nov. 29 story “Volunteers spark creativity, appreciation for world of art: Art Discovery program thrives in Evergreen Public Schools’ elementary classrooms.” A volunteer can be a total art klutz. When you show the class a painting, it tells you on the back what to say, what to point out and what questions to ask.

I don’t know a masterpiece from a paint-by-number but I had a ball volunteering and actually learned a lot. My daughter often came along and held up the paintings while I talked, so it’s great for two people. I always found art incredibly boring and tedious but the young kids get really enthused about it. You will probably have a few hilarious moments as “kids say the darnedest things” but who knows, you may be inspiring the next Picasso.
