MILWAUKEE (AP) — Marquette athletic director Larry Williams says he is resigning to pursue leadership opportunities outside of the university.
Williams told interim President Robert A. Wild of his resignation Friday.
Williams has overseen Marquette’s athletic department for two years. He also served on the University Leadership Council.
Former Marquette AD Bill Cords will serve as athletic director until a replacement is named.
Cords presided over Marquette’s programs for nearly 20 years, from 1987 to 2006.
