VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) — Alec Peters scored a game-high 30 points to lead Valparaiso to an 80-73 comeback in the second half against Loyola Marymount on Saturday.

The Crusaders trailed by 10 at the half, but bounded back after the break with an 18-7 run — Peters made three 3-pointers — to take the lead at 47-46 with 12:34 left to play. Valparaiso (7-5) improved from 25 percent shooting in the first half to 38.2 percent in the second, and scored 32 points from the free throw line.

Anthony Ireland led Loyola Marymount with 18 points and eight assists. The Lions (6-4) shot better from the floor (44.1 percent) but made 2 of 10 from behind the 3-point arc, and shot 67.9 percent from the line (19 of 28).

Saturday was the second time Peters racked up 30 points this season — the first was in a 100-92 loss against Evansville on November 20.
