GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — No. 19 Florida could have highly touted freshman Chris Walker in the rotation soon.

Walker, a McDonald’s All-America from Bonifay, has been admitted to school and was scheduled to practice Saturday.

Coach Billy Donovan already has ruled him out for Tuesday’s game against No. 16 Memphis. But Walker eventually will help the Gators this season.

The 6-foot-10 Walker, nicknamed “Sky Walker” because of his athleticism, had been waiting for his test scores to be approved by the NCAA Clearinghouse. Walker led Holmes County to a 1A state championship and a 20-8 record as a senior. He had 30 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocks in the title game.

He should provide much-needed depth for Florida, which is playing without suspended forward Damontre Harris and injured guards Eli Carter and Dillon Graham.
