PARK CITY, Utah (AP) — Armin Zoeggeler of Italy won Saturday’s World Cup men’s luge race, holding off Chris Mazdzer of the United States for his first victory of the season.

Zoeggeler finished two runs in 1 minute, 30.599 seconds. Mazdzer won a silver medal for the second straight week, finishing 0.240 seconds behind Zoeggeler. Wolfgang Kindl of Austria took third, another 0.084 seconds back.

It was the second straight time that Germany was shut out of medals in a men’s luge World Cup race on U.S. soil.

Germany’s Felix Loch remained atop the overall standings. Mazdzer is the top U.S. racer in the standings, currently fifth in the points chase.

Tucker West finished 16th for the U.S., with Taylor Morris 20th and Joe Mortensen placing 27th. Aidan Kelly did not finish his first run.
