ST. LOUIS (AP) — Rookie wide receiver Tavon Austin is inactive for the St. Louis Rams after missing the practice week with a left ankle injury. Cornerback Janoris Jenkins, who like Austin had been questionable, will start against the New Orleans Saints.

Saints defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley was active Sunday after being questionable with a back injury.

After the Rams drafted Austin in the first round, Austin had taken pride on never missing a practice let alone a game.

Right guard Harvey Dahl also was inactive with a knee injury for St. Louis. The Rams released defensive end Gerald Rivers and promoted wide receiver Justin Veltung from the practice squad and Veltung was active Sunday.
