LOS ANGELES (AP) — Fox Sports has renewed U.S. and Caribbean media rights to the European Champions League for three seasons through 2017-18.

Fox took over as the U.S. broadcaster for Europe’s top club competition in 2009-10 from ESPN, which had held the rights since 1994-95.

Fox also said Monday it had renewed rights to the second-tier Europa League for three seasons through 2017-18. It replaced DirecTV starting with the 2012-13 season.

The deal includes broadcast and digital rights for 146 Champions League games per season from the playoff round through the final.

Fox lost U.S. rights to the English Premier League to NBC starting with the 2013-14 season.
