UC Santa Barbara pulls away from San Diego 72-61

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Michael Bryson scored a game-high 21 points to lead UC Santa Barbara to a 72-61 win over San Diego on Sunday.

Bryson was 8 of 12 from the field, hitting 5 of his 7 shots from 3-point range, as the Gauchos (5-3) pulled away from a 47-all tie in the second half with an 18-4 run that secured the win. Kyle Boswell contributed 12 points, including the 3-pointer that sparked the game-winning run with 8:29 left.

Zalmico Harmon and Alan Williams added 11 each for UCSB, which shot 53 percent from the field and has won three of its last four games.

San Diego (8-4) trailed just 34-30 at the break and kept the score close in a game that included 19 lead changes.

Dennis Kramer led the Toreros with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Duda Sanadze scored 19 points and Johnny Dee added 18.
