Woodland police on Sunday night were investigating a shooting that they suspect happened during a drug buy. A 17-year-old boy was shot in the arm and taken to a local hospital.

At 5:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 300 block of Gun Club Road.

A 17-year-old boy, whose address not listed, and an 18-year-old boy from Vancouver came to Woodland to buy marijuana or other drugs, police said. They were in a car with the “supplier,” and a shot was fired, police said. The injury is not believed to be life threatening.

“The victim may have planned to ‘rip off’ the supplier. The supplier is believed to be the person that fired the gun,” police said in a statement.

The suspect was at large late Sunday night. There was no description of the suspect.
