Louisiana-Lafayette overwhelms Centenary 103-69

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Shawn Long was perfect from the floor, hitting all 12 of his shots, totaling a career-high 30 points to lead Louisiana-Lafayette to a dominating 103-69 victory over Division III Centenary Tuesday night.

Four other Louisiana-Lafayette (8-3) players were in double figures as Kasey Shepherd had 19, making 7 of 9 field goals, Elfrid Payton had 15, Kevin Brown 11 and Vieux Kande 10.

The Ragin’ Cajuns were hot from the floor, hitting 39 of 61 shots. They also made 45 percent of their 3-point shots.

Steven Wronkoski opened the game with a 3-pointer for the Ragin’ Cajuns. They stretched that to 25-11 at the midway point and held a 51-32 advantage at the break. Centenary (4-2) was never able to make a run at the Rajin’ Cajuns as Louisiana-Lafayette also easily dominated the second half 52-37.

Jonathan Blount led Centenary (4-2) with 28 points. Kendall Demouchet contributed 17.
