An Amboy man and U.S. Marine who recently died from his injuries in a crash near Moulton Falls Park will be honored with two ceremonies this week.

Pfc. Noah Dean Baird, 18, served at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla., and was visiting home on leave when he died.

Battle Ground Baptist Church, 1110 N.W. Sixth Ave., will hold a memorial service that includes a flag line at 3 p.m. Thursday. Then, on Saturday, there will be graveside military honors starting at noon at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1101 N.E. 112th Ave.

On the evening of Dec. 12, the Subaru Legacy that Baird was driving went off Northeast Lucia Falls Road and hit a power pole.

His passenger, a 17-year-old Yacolt girl whose name was not released, was hospitalized after the crash.
